At the May 2021 meeting of the Board of Regents, the board recommended that the be revised to “ɫ���� University of Newfoundland and Labrador.”

ɫ����’s official name remains ɫ���� University of Newfoundland until it is officially changed in the ɫ���� University Act. No determination has yet been made on how the abbreviation for the university may change based on an official name change. Marketing and Communications recommends using ɫ���� or MUN until further guidance is developed.
